nihilist: the river
a visual poem
VISUAL POEM UGLY IN NON-DESKTOP FORMAT

i've been trying to bring things into focus. that means accepting layers of myself i won't ever be able to shed. the river of my mind flows over a bedrock of nihilism. most would encourage me to carve that out, but that would mean severingMEout of reality x RIGHT AT THE ANKLES x before i ever even took a single step. i could wait to live my life and love myself, fruitlessly willing that sediment to erode away. but it's the foundation the basest part of me but thankfully: frigid 33° water roars above it dominating the landscape. and i can fucking swim.

You're welcome, and I totally get you—formatting on substack is such a pain in the ass!
“I can fucking swim.”
Louder for the people in the back!
You create such crisp and clear images. I can feel my feet in freezing, rocky spring water. Your ability to lean into line structure and visual presentation is admirable.
